Welcome to Salvation Army Likoni High School for visually impaired

Thank you so much for putting aside your tight schedule just to log in to our website and interract with us online. I would wish to introduce to you Likoni high School for the Visually Impaired. We are a public boarding school for boys and girls who are totally blind, low vision including those living with albinism. Our students come from all over the coastal region since this is the only school for the visually impaired learners in the region. The school was started in January 2016 with form one class. By God's sufficient grace today the school is up to form four. The total current population is 83 and it is still growing. The school is run with a dedicated team of 10 teachers including able deputy principal Mr. Charles. We have a passionate team of 17 board of management who oversees proper management and operation of the school. We highly embrace the latest and modern technology and therefore prefer online mode of operation. All our school events and notices, related downloads, and advertisements are posted here. We have alot of academic resources on this our website beneficial to our students. We there believe that this website will be of high benefit to you at the end of browsing through every page. The Salvation Army

The Salvation Army education mission seeks to support, empower and equip Salvation Army schools to provide high-quality, holistic, faith-based and family-focused education for all young people in a safe and secure environment. We strive to build the capacity of teachers and staff of Salvation Army schools; to provide education and skills training in safe settings for both in and out-of-school, without discrimination of vulnerable children and youth; to facilitate access to higher education and to increase community support for education through partnerships between Salvation Army schools, government and the community

SPORTS AND GAMES

Besides struggling in academics, our students are also shining in co-curricular activities. In 2022, we produced the boy in showdown ( Michael Waticha) and the best girl ( Naomi Nzai) Nationally in SNE Games at Eldoret.

In the year 2023, our football team represented the Coast Region at the SNE Games held in Embu in the month of August. The team scouped possible one having won all the five matches they played.

MUSIC AND DRAMA

Our students are extra talented in singing. Their voices have become inspirational to many accross the nation performing up to the national and occassionally get special invitation to high places like the statehouse to perfom before the president. In 2023 our students were the champions in fork song and traditional Dance in the National Music Festivals at Dedan Kimathi University in Nyeri.
